Just how good is David Villa?

Well, last season, in 35 league games, Villa recorded 16 goals and 12 direct assists for 28 points. This ranked second in Spain behind Ronaldinho. The season before, Villa scored 25 league goals in 25 games. In short, he contributes about almost one goal per game to a team's offense.

David Villa is a proven offensive production machine.

I do not want to say here that Tottenham should buy Villa. Their attack of Berbatov and Keane is one of the best in the Premiership. The very fact that they are linked with an inevitably costly Villa surely raises questions about whether their current attack will stay together.

Not more of this.. Firstly Spurs being linked with 60 million pounds worth of players... as usual they will probably not acquire them. Players from Arsenal to Spurs doesn't happen. £30m on one player? again unlikely. Spurs usually, unfortunately for them seem to pay a premium for mediocre players like Bent. Scott Carson to Villa, well he is already there but £10m? They are more likely to go for Jaaskelainen for £1m. Luka Modric to Chelsea, thats possible, not a surprise as Arsenal have been monitoring him for a year. His best chum is Eduardo at Arsenal. I wonder which club modric will choose.

Actually Rafa Benitez has made an official statement saying that we are not going after Javi Martinez. In came out earlier today. Garay is most likely our number one target.
