Tottenham Thrash Famagusta / ball-boy’s moment of glory (video)

Alright, so none of you really care; Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Cypriot team Anorthosis Famagusta (a side most will not have heard of) 6-1 at White Hart Lane during Thursday’s matches.

Spurs were 4-0 up at half time, defenders Kaboul and Dawson building up a comfortable lead before Robbie Keane and Darren Bent scored two goals within two minutes. The second half was slightly more competitive, but Spurs still managed to get two goals- substitute Jermain Defoe coming on to net twice while Famagusta player Zlogar netted a consolation goal.

This match was also saw a shocking act of football hooliganism; most thought that the image of English hooligans in football had died out- if they saw what happened in yesterday’s game, they would not be so quick to do so. Yesterday’s game saw an attack on a player of Famagusta by a Tottenham ball-boy, and UEFA will have to look into the situation as it may breed problems for negotiations between the two countries involved.

The video of this shocking incident can be seen below:

The Tottenham ballboy gets involved in the UEFA Cup game against Famagusta on 20th Sept ‘07.

So, who said that hooligans had disappeared ;)? A good laugh for all those that hadn’t seen it yet, although I doubt the unlucky Famagusta player sees it the same way. His reaction is classic- on first glance, one would have thought he was going to beat up the kid! :D
