Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will be out for three weeks after suffering a partially torn ankle ligament injury.

He was forced off due to injury during Spurs’ defeat by Hull at the weekend and faces a race to be fit for the derby clash at Arsenal on 29 October.

The loss leaves Tottenham with only Bent and Campbell (on loan from Manchester United) as first-team strikers, although instead of Campbell filling in for Roman we’re more likely to see Ramos field a 4-5-1 formation which, ironically, will give the team more stability in midfield and could help them win a game or two and change the direction of their season.

The injury will also keep Pavlyuchenko out of Russia’s World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein this week.

Meanwhile, Aaron Lennon has also pulled out of England’s under-21 squad to face Wales in the European Championship play-off on Friday due to a knee problem.
