Time for Newcastle to dump Viduka

The Australian striker is 32, has been injured since May at least and with his latest injury scare he’s looking at sitting out for the rest of the season.

The last thing Newcastle need at this point is an old, overweight, over-the-hill striker collecting a paycheck while sitting at home in Australia.

No offense to Viduka – I think he’s a good striker and at his peak he was quite a handful for defenders – but at this point my sympathies are squarely with Newcastle United and their fans. Viduka’s an excellent example of how the club has been mismanaged in terms of transfers, wages and fitness.

Time for him to walk out himself before he’s let go by the club.
