i agree as a fellow boro fan we do look bad, we need another striker why didn't we get alves?
and as much as i love southgate i think things need to change soon.

i also love to watch arsenal they are kinda like my "2nd team" and i agree with all your predictions they are a joy to watch.

"I'll even stick my neck out and say that this season they will once again go totally unbeaten"

No offence, but I'm looking forward to coming straight back to this article when they lose :-)

As for the Manchester United long-ball comment, our author is in fact entirely correct. The problem is that the term 'long ball' is wholly troublesome. I can recall the Guardian or another newspaper doing an analysis of the use of the long ball and United came out with the most long balls per game. HOWEVER, this is long ball in all senses; not the aerial ball up to the lanky striker who flicks on (Robbo to Berbatov style), but the searching diagonal balls that Rio loves to play from defence, and the long switch passes played from Scholes when he forays out to the right and then curls the ball with his right foot out to the left wing. Arsenal, it is true, play shorter passes and more direct football; but United's attacking play can be just as elegant.
