Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has admitted he is honoured to have received a luctrative offer from Manchester United.

The World Cup winner with Germany is reportedly linked with a move to Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his attacking options for the next season. Muller has been exceptional for both his club and country in recent times.

The 26-year-old’s contract at the Allianz Arena runs down in 2019 and he claims he is happy at Bayern, despite the rumours linking him to Old Trafford.

“When a request comes, automatically you deal with it. A request from a big club is an honour and a reward that one’s performance is good. But I feel at Bayern well, and my contract runs until 2019. More is not to say to these speculations,” Muller told Sports Bild.

The forward was linked with a move to United last summer, which he ended by signing a new contract while on international duty. He would have been an ideal player for  Van Gaal as he looks to add more fire power to his strike force.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager already allowed Radamel Falcao return to AS Monaco after the completion of a season-long loan spell. That leaves Van Gaal with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and James Wilson as the first choice strikers in the squad.

Meanwhile, Muller’s club and national teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger has been heavily linkedhttp://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/bastian-schweinsteiger-pictured-wimbledon-manchester-5970971 with a move to England, with United being firmly interested in the midfielder’s services.

Schweinsteiger has one year left on his contract and is yet to commit his future to the German giants.
