This Liverpool Fan is a Moron, or why Chelsea and Manchester United’s squad rotation WORKS

Written by Ahmed Bilal

Moron

Liverpool fans are a funny bunch. Case in point: this article whinging about the *hate* the media has for Liverpool, based on the brilliant insight that Chelsea and Manchester United ALSO rotate their squads, and yet the respective managers get no flak for it.

You MORON! They get no flak for it because it WORKS!

Manchester United and Chelsea both changed their teams for ‘away’ games and came out worthy winners (Chelsea while playing with 10-men for the second half, and Manchester United while playing in second-gear). What’s more, the rotation these managers employ USUALLY works. In other words, the players are good enough / adaptable enough to fit in this system.

And while we’re at it, if it hasn’t been made obvious already, Liverpool’s rotation hasn’t given you guys the results you needed in the league. There’s a reason for that – Liverpool don’t have the match-winners for it, and the manager isn’t aggressive enough to keep up with the Big 3.

Moving on…

I’m sorry Tony, but you were either drunk or playing for the backlash when writing the piece above, and in both cases you deserve nothing less.

  1. Fergie’s and Grant’s rotaion policies work because they do it in moderation. I think Rafa went for a year without playing the same team in back-to-back matches. Neither Ferguson or Grant ever did that and that helps the team because they have a core and learn how to play with each other.

As for Tony, he has to unerstand that hardly anybody really hates Liverpool. There is no reason for that. Most fans hate the “strong” teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd (in reverse order of course).

you guyz have no idea how difficult it is to rotate a defensive striker like kuyt..add to that a giraffe and the gaffer gaffe lawl..here’s to everton the better of the 2 meyerside teams

  3. our rotation works, that is why! also, saying how the media hate liverpool? my word, the media love liverpool more than any other team in the world, especially the oh so special stevie ‘no he does NOT dive’ gerrard. oh dear. typical scouse fan

  4. All fans think that the media hates their club. They’re so myopic that they can’t conceive that their club is doing anything wrong. Last week I was checking the Arsenal blogs for reaction to Eduardo’s broken leg. All of them were condemning the media for suggesting that Martin Taylor might be a nice guy who mistimed a tackle instead of the fire-breathing anti-christ that they think he is. As for Gallas, he is passionate, not a petulant, childish ego-maniac.

Liverpool’s problem is that they’re built around a midfielder who constantly loses the ball. The media may be partly responsible in the way that they’ve built him up to the point where he’s un-drop-able. That’s hardly hate though.

manchester united and chelsea, best 2 squads in premiership so they make rotation look easy. typical liverpool moaning just for sake of it as usual trying for nobody likes us (i wish),they were the most boring team in their beloved late 70s early 80s team and theyre great history.oh how everybody hates them.my arse.everytime they visit old trafford, they scrawl munich 58 everywhere and theyre the best fans in the world(dont make me laugh),anfield poor atmosphere but hey they are allowed to play (celtic)recordings to raise quiet crowd.like most stadiums now new type fans dont sing, hats off to pompey n newcastle,2 best atmospheres in england.
as mentioned in above person’s comment manchester united and chelsea are the most hated teams.good luck to them both.
poor old liverpool, dry yer eyes mate as was sang recently.think before you speak.ok its hard but try ok.
not everybody hates liverpool but perhaps we should.

  6. As a red…I couldn’t agree more.

  7. Oh and Anonymous, the amount of ‘Justice was the 96′ scrawlings I saw after the FA Cup victory at Anfield the other year immediately shift you off the moral high-ground.

  8. And Ajax played YNWA before anyone apparently.

    Sorry for multiple posts.

wow you didnt kill yourself with this article did you :)

I think this is what Benitez is trying to acheive he was always trying to get 22 internationals at Liverpool now he does but he still isnt rotating quality players like Kewell, Benyoun and Risse who are in there just to make up the numbers will be gone soon (and trust me does arent the only players, just giving a few examples)
I think If you match Liverpools top 10 with any other teams we could even have the best (Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano, Carragher, Reina, Agger, Babel, Crouch, Lucas, Alonso) but we agaisnt Bolton, Barnsley and Middlesbrough I noticed Pennant and Babel are the only players that give us width and absoloutly none of the full backs help us.

If we could some how bring in a formation like this

    Reina
    Rafinha Carra Agger Drenthe
    Nasri Gerrard Masch Babel
    Torres Crouch

I think a team like that could easily fight for the league

  10. liverpool fan clearly knows very little. nasri is a central attackin mid. babel is a striker and is actually being played out of position for you guys at present. youd have two wingers who arent wingers. rafinha would cost a shitload, and drenthe doesnt defend, he is much more of a winger. so yes, greta offensive team, but where is the defense?

  11. I’m a Man Utd fan, but in response to Liverpool_Fan’s post this is the team I think Liverpool should use.

    Reina
    Finnan Carragher Agger Reise
    Xabi Masch
    Benayoun Gerrard
    Torres Babel

4 center mids, two play more defense, 2 attack. 2 great strikers. Sorry no wingers because you don’t have any, hopefully your fullbacks push up.

  12. The team that Benitez played against Bolton and Boro, that shape should be retained as it opens up space.

    Reina
    Finnan Skrtel Carra Riise
    Alonso Mascherano
    Pennant Gerrard Babel
    Torres
Obvious improvements; decent right winger – possibly Ricardo Quaresma, but wouldn’t it be great if the quiet rumours about Lennon or Young become reality?. Also decent full back – in light of his comments to the media, probably Rafinha. Finally cover for Torres.

Title here we come (I’ll be saying the same next season no doubt)

sensible cleary you know very little.

Nasri has moved out to the flank much more this season and he enjoyed all of the champions league games out on the left.
Yesterday when Babel was on the left he terrified Bolton but when he went to the striker last 15 minutes he was very quiet.
You need to watch skysports some time its rumoured that Liverpool have a 6million bid in talks with Schalke for Rafinha.
I agree Drenthe isnt a great Defender but he can be improved in that area.

  14. Is that Bilal spouting nonsense again…..?

Certainly looks like it. This guy has a fascination with Lpool…..and hes a UNITED fan??

    LMFAO

Arvin, I take it you’ve read the original article Ahmed refers to in this piece?

It’s an embarassment to anyone who follows and understands football and, I would have thought, to Liverpool fans as well.

Why not comment on the content instead of being an idiot??

  16. because it’s easier.
