I’ve always been suspicious about Arshavin’s ability. I may be wrong of course, but I’ve always put it down to the Russian league being out-of-sync with the rest of Europe.
His energy and running with the ball between early April to late June coincides with the Russian league being a quarter of its way through, whilst the rest of Europe were near on end of season legs.

Disagree re arshavin- if ppl saw Zenit at all last year esp in the earlier rounds they will have seen he was amazing. He also gave the england full back a rough time at wembley. I reckon he’ll be absolutely quality

Ah Arshavin! Virtually anonymous before the Euro’s last summer. Despite popular belief he had one poor game, one good game and one outstanding game for Russia.

No truly talented footballer fails to hit the international radar until the age of 26.

Expect him to flop or at best to be average.
