Lindsay Tarpley grew up in Michigan and attended Portage Central High School. She took her team to the state semi-finals which was followed by an undefeated season and the state championship. She received many honors during her time there.

In 2002, she went to the University of North Carolina and continued with her out-standing performances and then in 2003, she was chosen to represent her country, the United States. She has scored some of the most important goals in US soccer history like scoring the winning goal in US’ first ever world title for youth women (FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship).
