During WC06 qualification, I believe that Walter Smith introduced a new dynamic into the Scotland side. His changes were perpetuated by Mr. McLeish, and it would be a shame if the next manager could not build upon the positive developments of the last few years.

In one year, Scotland achieved what few teams, including Italy, could not. As you noted, they beat France twice. Italy hasn&#039;t defeated the French in a competitive game since WC 78. (Officially, the WC 06 final ended in a draw after extra time).</description>
