it definitely was an interesting turn of events ahmed!

i dont know how many people expected the dutch to win, let alone to win in such a fashion... even on the Holland-Italy game page on Footbo.com, it's clear that most people predicted a draw, followed by a win for Italy, and the smallest percentage backed the Dutch to win.

I am definitely enjoying it as a neutral - but i miss the potential "blood boiling" or the emotions of ecstasy that would come with watching England in the competition - time to stop crying i guess!

well, interesting twist in the group of death, eh Daniel?

my 'second' team, italy, lost and are potentially out (though the romania-france draw gives them plenty of hope). maybe one could try enjoying it as a neutral?

Daniel, great article ! I also checked out Footbo and signed up. I would not be surprised if this grows into something big. Cool features !
As a German I have to say that I do not know what it feels like not being in a big tournament. But I have also to admit that a big tournament without England is not the same.
I am a Bayern Munich fan and I could not simply support another teanm in the Champions League this year. You can always have sympathy for one team, but only really cheer for one.

I know a lot of English people who support Croatia as they want to say they were knocked out by the best.

The strange thing is, it wouldnt be a surprise if spain failed again - we are so used to it... but i think lots of people would be happy to see them fulfil their potential - at least once!

Spain!!!
They have everything...from classy players to one of the best leagues in the world. Yet their deprivation of success is sometimes truly incomprehensible.
