Arsenal Home Kit 2006-2008 (A slight modification)

After the initial blurtastic photos posted by Arsenal.com of our new home kit for 06/07 and 07/08, a number of blogs and sites have posted scans of a Nike catalog containing clear images of our new kit. I have no clue which blog/site broke it first, but whoever did, here’s credit to you. It’s an amazing kit, and I love going back to the red and white again.
However, there’s one bit I don’t like about the shirt: the two gold stripes running down the front. So I decided to get rid of the stripes in PhotoShop and that version looks even better than this one. To me, at least. Have a look.

Yeh man, totally, looks a lot better without them. I didnt mind them at first, but after seeing what it cud be like without them, you see its better! I suppose it wudnt be a Nike kit without sumthin horrible on it tho lol!
It looks a whole lot better without the stripes. it’ll be hard to get used to the sponser. I still think it’s better than the current top. Cant wait to wear it at the Grove. We’re gunner get ya!
Obviously some haute couture challenged person thought he’d match the stripes with the emblem.
Doesn’t matter really, everyone will get used to it, eventually.

Good job. Those stripes look like such an afterthought, especially when comparing the shirt to the redcurrant one, which I realy loved. Sadly, I dont believe your modification will manifest itself in the new shirt……
Perhaps it’s time to manufacture the “Arsenal 06/07 Home Shirt Mod Pack” - A bit of red dye and a paintbrush and we’re set!

You no that nike have never and will never just make a plain kit. looks nice thoough without the stripes dont get me wrong but we’ll get used to it. We always have the best kits anyway!!

i think the new kit looks class with the stipes as its not as plain and boring as previous kits! love the retro look well done nike on another class arsenal shirt! does anyone know if we r changing the away one aswell?

Looks great with the stripes, and i like the plain white sleeves. reminds me of the best Dreamcast kit.
The edited one looks like the first O2 one, but with a different sponser, and i’m glad the crest is not in the middle this time.

I saw the new Arsenal Emirates Kit at the local shopping mall (Toronto, Canada) and it looks legit. I can’t believe my eyes as Arsenal FC was going to reveal it sometime in July? But the store owner told me the shipment arrived a week ago and the Kit had all the authentic Nike labels, tags, and the store is a large retail store chain so it’s pretty real. Here are some photos of me trying the new Kit on in the change room (sorry for poor quality pics, it’s dark and I only had my Cel cam)

I have brought all of the arsenal shirts since 1999 and this is my least favourite. The edited version is loads better than the original but it looks very old fashioned. The gold stripes are horrible. I will deffinalty buy this shirts even though it is not very nice.
Should have kept last seasons design. Forever. Too many red and white teams in the EPL as it is.

i like both with or without looks da same but luckily their changing the away 1 i hated the yellow onw so shit.
they look the same even without the stripes no differnece and im fed up with this one they should add more stuff to it like more gold and stuff ot something like the 2005 kit we had and i also liked the away kit we had in the 2005 season.

If Arsenal are having the same home kit then why is it not the same. If it has 2 gold stripes on it then it’s not the same. Now I have to buy a new home kit if they’re changing the home kit

dis kit is a symbol of arsenal. it has the tradtional red n white colours n to me the gold stripes look ok. it’s not gonna change so i think thats a good thing.
I agree with those who say we should’ve stayed with currant as the color. Too much red & white running around the pitch. The currant would be a welcome change.
i think that the stripes are really cool and they match with the amblem.Anyway… did you saw the third kit for 2007/2008? WOW!!! You can still faintly see the yellow stripes…if you use Photoshop try using both the smudge tool and the blur tool, they come in great use for me
