i don't really see how the third bullet point is a 'potential problem'. Also, if instituted properly, i can't see how it would slow the game down at all.And not even the best referees in the world can be 100% accurate either.

It's our interests vs theirs... dont u get it??
If technology is allowed to slowly erode their control of the game (I'm talking abt match officials) they are worried that one fine day, there would be a game between 2 teams with no man-in-black in the middle and men-with-flags at the sides.

They are worried that hawk-eye might one day spawn into hawk-control, hawk-offside-examiner etc etc.

They are resisting change so that THEY can control the game.

It's all conspiracy I tell you!
HA!

The goal line technology they're looking at is similar to that used in tennis, I believe.

It doesn't slow the game noticeably in tennis, and the ball is hitting near the line quite frequently in that sport.

In the first three games of the EPL this season the technology would've been used what, once? Healy's goal vs. Boro. And it would've given a just result, maybe taken ten seconds to fix? I see no real negatives with the proposed technology.

I saw them do an interveiw with the hawk-eye developer yesterday on Sky Sports News and he said that the goal line tech. would be instantaneous, i.e. as soon as the ball crosses the line the ref recieves a signal to his earpiece which confirms the ball has crossed the line. No need for a stop in play and accurate results. The problem though is that they have to make sure that it's 100% accurate before it comes into play.
