I certainly got my wish! What a weekend of FA Cup Football - that is why we play the game. The magic is back and whoever wins, it'll be a breath of fresh air for the grand old competition.

Well you got your wish!! I agree, I think its a breath of fresh air and brings back a bit of the 'romance of the cup'.

Lot's of controversy but that's cup football and if you get through you get through...end of.

Good luck to all 4 semi finalists!!

United v. Chelsea would make for the most interesting cup final. For the neutral, Middlesborough v. Barnsley would switch off the nation, never mind the rest of the world which habitually tunes in to the English FA cup final. And do you really want to see a final where United steam-roller West Brom or Chelsea crush Cardiff?

A Chelsea v. United match-up might turn out to be a very different game to last year’s drab encounter. Chelsea would want to make up for the recent League Cup defeat to Spurs, and will go out to play attacking football. Abramovich will demand that, whatever Grant’s future at the club. I get the feeling with Abramovich that he might even prefer to see Chelsea lose 3-4 to United in a thriller (like Man Utd v. Real Madrid, a few years back) than see another drab unambitious 1-0 win for his side.

Recently, United have lost cup finals whenever they have come up against one of the Big Four. Chelsea in 2007, Arsenal in 2005, and Liverpool in the League Cup in 2003. United will desperately want to put that right.

United v. Chelsea FA Cup Final 2008, could be an all time classic. Both clubs will be able to freshen their sides up in a way they weren’t able to last year.

So, I for one, will be hoping that United and Chelsea triumph this weekend, avoid each other in the semi-finals draw, and then match up for a final that neutral and supporter alike would want to see.
