I'm not sure how to put this in a way that "spins" it, because I don't think it can be spun. I want to make it absolutely clear that I do not care about the existant fan base at MTFC. Why would I? all I get is abuse. If and when this becomes my club, then that will stop. It will stop because this will in effect become a private members club. It will be commercially based and it is not now, and certainly won't be in the future, a community resource.
I can't make iit any plainer than this can I? I have no use for morons that want to bring the club down, if we are going to do this, then w are going to create a new template for football. The current"fans" are so stupid that they boycott their own club, all I can say is that IF I get hold of this, OR any other club, I'd like the individuals with that thought process to continue their boycott. They do nothing for our business, and i will raise income a different way.

I'd actually agree on that, Ahmed. A club that has a successful commercial operation has a much more secure financial footing than one that doesn't. I think that goes without saying. I don't think enough clubs actually go far enough in realising commercial opportunities in a lot of cases.

The hard part is working to ensure you bring in enough cash from outside companies and harness any spending potential from fans without alienating the loyal supporters by asking too much, and getting the on/off pitch cash balance right. Not an easy task, especially for lower-league clubs.

Rebranding the club isn't going to pull in the fans - especially if you're appearing to a geographically wide-spread internet fan community who don't have the spending loyalty from elsewhere. In fact relying on a web community with no connection to the club is fraught with difficulties. Just ask MyFC.

Other than that, I don't think commercialism married to football (in general) is such a bad idea and sometimes you need to change with the times.

That being said, a solid track record would help one's case a lot more.

There's a comment box, so go right ahead. For a full article, it's Ahmed's site so you'll have to ask him.
