Our friend scott the red has a selective memory about decisions at old trafford When goalie carroll dropped mendes 93rd minute shot into the goal nearer the net than the goal line and mysteriously the officials were unable to see the ball crossing the a line!!nothing changes!

Good article Scott. I think it's worse than ever this year because you know who are challenging for the title.

The media want ratings and Blog writers want lots of inetraction. No better way to get it than to highlight when Utd get a decision in their favour and await the barrage from the anti-Utd brigade.

Even Benitez got in on the act. What fascinates me though is reading some of the rants that go on. Long detailed inputs listing numbered points and lists of incidents and stating a belief that there is genuinely a conspiracy going on!

Some fans are just on a wind-up but some genuinely seem to believe this....and that's delusional.

As you say, the decisions that go against Utd are conveniently overlooked, as are the ones that go in favour of their own teams.

Its down to emotion and bitter rivalry in the end. Both knock objectivity firmly on the head.

Jim - you've kindof missed the point. I'm not suggesting United are the only team to have decisions go against them, far from it. I did spell that out fairly clearly.

The point I was making is whenever there is a controversial decision that involves United it is EVERYWHERE. If Wayne Rooney went in with two feet raised off the ground like that and wasn't sent off, there would be pictures of it in all the papers and replays on every football show. Palacios does it and it is completely ignored... instead, everyone focuses on a dodgy penalty in a game where United scored another 4 goals anyway.

Jim, even if Wigan got that "penalty" last season (which it wasn't) It wouldn't matter, Chelsea still drew against Bolton so we would have won the title on goal difference anyway! plus who's to say that united wouldn't have come back against Spurs anyway? they've done it plenty of times so why not then? - clearly yet another hater...

United fans make me laugh, is this something of deja vu with dodgy penalties and winning titles, Wigan away last game of the season anyone? BTW a bit rich having a pop at Palacios' tackle after the two footed tackle Ronaldo put in on Danny Murphy a few weeks back. I don't support Spurs or Liverpool so have no reason to be affected by the decisions, I just feel that you should not be blinkered or show double standards.

@Ahmed Bilal: But equally poor of him not even mentioning the missing Palacios card. By admitting he made a mistake by giving the penalty (without talking about any other big calls during the match) he only shows the pressure from the media got to him - making him an even worse ref.

the worse ref by far is Mike Riley, too slow, makes decisions that only he knows why, and has an absolute bias to the top 4. Mike Atkinson isn't much better either !
