Uruguay
Uruguay has a rich football history. Winning the first-ever World Cup in 1930 and then winning it again by beating the home team Brazil in 1950. Completely dominating the South American Championship, winning it 11 times, four times being runners up, getting the third position seven times and their worst position being 6th in the tournament’s history.
They have won the Copa America on three occasions and they stood fourth in the latest 2007 version. They have competed in the Olympics twice, in 1924 and 1928, and they have won gold both the times.
Retro Football Kits

Modern football took years in the making after the Chinese forgot about cuju. In 1872, the first ever international…

After the World Cup in South Africa…

This is not a list of our favorite players from the World Cup. If it were, it would’ve been quite different to say the least. Taking a look at the statistics of the players, here is a list of the best of them: Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Germany Invaluable in Germany’s third place finish, Neuer made…
The Nominees For The FIFA ‘Golden Shinpads’ Award
With a conspicuous absence of any defensively-minded players on FIFA’s Golden Ball award shortlist, you could be forgiven for thinking that there weren’t any outstanding back-line performers at this summer’s World Cup – but one quick delve into glorious retrospect reveals this not to be the case. In a tournament which came to be defined…
