Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry is one of the best strikers in the world today. Has won every competition except the Champions League, and while there’s a chance that he could still win it with Arsenal, Henry, turning 30 in August 2007, is running out of time.

Has been linked with a move away from Arsenal for the last couple of summers, but most of it is just speculation and nothing else – blind throwing of mud on the wall hoping that when it sticks, people can claim that they knew it all along.

A player who has won the World Cup (1998) and Euro 2000, and it’s a shame that a player of his ability has never won the Fifa World Player of the Year award.

That and the Champions League.

Celtic v Barcelona – 07/08 Champions League 2nd Round Preview

A lot of people may feel that this is one of the more one-sided of the last-sixteen ties in this season’s Champions League but statistics suggest that Celtic could well cause an upset. Celtic fear no-one at Celtic Park and Barça have only beaten Celtic once in three meetings at Camp Nou, and that was…

10 Reasons Why Barcelona Should Have Signed Diego Milito and not Thierry Henry

10 Reasons Why Barcelona Should Have Signed Diego Milito and not Thierry Henry

I was going to write a type of homage to Diego Milito during the transfer window as I anticipated that a move to a bigger club was imminent for the Zaragoza striker. Milito was heavily linked with Tottenham and Manchester City (who, strangely in my opinion, opted for Benjani) during the January sales. Since no…

WagSnatch Roundup: Ashley Cole’s affair, Jermain Defoe’s new hat, Ronaldo scores a bonus, Henry does something right and Keegan needs to Wise up

In this week’s WagSnatch Roundup footballer’s shenanigans uncovered, Jermain Defoe likes to wear a bra instead of a hat, Ronaldo promised a pay rise if he scores, Thierry Henry is a do-gooder and Keegan gets snubbed time and time again. Recent weeks have not been good for footballers and their WAG companions. Recent and not…

La Liga Week 19: Henry finally finds his form for Barcelona

La Liga Week 19: Henry finally finds his form for Barcelona

Thierry Henry played his best game so far for Football Club Barcelona in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Murcia. Henry didn’t get on the scoresheet but he set up goals for 17-year-old Bojan Krkic and for Samuel Eto’o who marked his last game for Barça before joining up with the Cameroon national team with a brace….

World’s Top Goalscorer of 2007 according to IFFHS

World’s Top Goalscorer of 2007 according to IFFHS

“Soccer is a world made of numbers”. A phrase which would make any mathematician proud, with the eternal claim that you can find mathematics anywhere. And where better to find numbers than Goal Totals: the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), the famous (and often criticized) organization that chronicles the history of football,…

NOT such a Merry Christmas for…..

A very Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everybody out there. But it certainly isn’t a bright and sparkling Christmas for a select few in the footballing world. Let’s go through those unfortunate players, bosses and teams:-

Top 100 Greatest Ever Footballers

Top 100 Greatest Ever Footballers

It’s that time of the year again. The time when a random (ok, let’s call it ‘well-respected’ if you prefer) football publication makes an “All Time Best” ranking that never fails to create controversy and offend a few people. FourFourTwo did one of those last month, this time it’s the turn of the ‘Association of…

Brilliant Messi meets unstoppable Henry as Barcelona turn on the style

Barcelona handed out a pummeling to struggling Levante as Henry finally opened his league account for the Catalan club and Lio Messi continued to distance himself with his brilliance from absent Ronaldinho, whilst looking more and more like the REAL next Maradona.
