An extremely talented individual, Torres was tipped for greatness from the start of his playing career and he spent several years at Atletico Madrid (some of them as captain) before finally giving in to his dream of playing in the Champions League and moving to the Premier League. Born in 1984, Torres has achieved a lot in his short career and will undoubtedly go on to win many trophies in the future.

Liverpool Fume Over Gerrard Injury: Time To Write Off 2010/11?

I’m not prepared to risk aneurysm by going into too much detail about England’s rudderless outing against the French last night, but it’s fairly safe to assume that there was one salient development that caught most Liverpool fans collective attention – and you can pretty much rest assured that it wasn’t the steady, assured performance…

Fernando Torres Will Never Be ‘Back To His Best’

Fernando Torres Will Never Be ‘Back To His Best’

You can bet your bottom Euro that, had Liverpool striker Fernando Torres put in his now-customary idle mope against Chelsea yesterday, today’s tabloids would have been crammed to the hilt with sourceless stories of his impending desertion to whichever cash-rich suitors were plucked out of the hat first. As it just so happens, Liverpool’s gilded…

Will Reina And Torres Really Lead The Liverpool Exodus?

Call it sensationalist horsesh*t if you wish, but splashed across the backpage of this morning’s Daily Mirror (which is, granted, not a newspaper that tends to let the facts stand in the way of a good story) is an EXCLUSIVE report on how both Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina are ‘ready to quit Liverpool in…

Hodgson May ‘Never Resign’ But His Liverpool Days Are Still Numbered

When asked about his immediate future after overseeing his second/third-string side’s utterly dire goalless stalemate with Napoli in the Europa League last night, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson took a familiar, if not a little futile, defiant stance. Before the game, there was a flurry of spiralling internet speculation claiming that the beleaguered veteran, who has…

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has scheduled a meeting with the chief executive David Gill this very morn (10:00 BST) to mull over the repercussions of the damning statement delivered by Wayne Rooney yesterday, in which the seemingly outbound striker accused the club of forcing his hand by failing to match his lofty ambitions….

Joe Cole Has Endured ‘The Worst Time Of His Career’ At Liverpool

Joe Cole Has Endured ‘The Worst Time Of His Career’ At Liverpool

Back in July, Joe Cole‘s fee-less saunter between Chelsea and Liverpool looked like one of the shrewdest pieces of business conducted over the entire summer, the spark required to reignite a damp powder keg of a squad, yet somehow the sporadically spellbinding midfielder has since made his free transfer look like a bad deal. Cole…
