David Beckham

I’ve been told that I’m the biggest David Beckham fan people have ever met. I assure you that I don’t go gaga over his pics, but as a player he is everything you’d expect – extremely hard-working, talented, gives 110% every time and is flawed as well as simple genius.

Becks had an illustrious career with Manchester United before being kicked out by SAF and thrown Real Madrid‘s way, who then proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot by giving him a poor contract which led him to head towards LA Galaxy, where Becks will, in all likelihood, end his professional career.

He’s been excellent for England as well, both under Eriksson and under McClaren (who saw the light finally and picked him for the national team).

What does Beckham’s return mean for MLS and the Galaxy?

Can Beckham win back the Galaxy fans?

Former England captain David Beckham is due to return to Los Angeles Galaxy in July following a spell with AC Milan. Beckham’s move to LA from Real Madrid was seen as the end of his European career and an intermediate step between playing professional football and investing heavily in Major League Soccer. However, his commitment…

Beckham aims for South Africa 2010 and Shilton’s record

David Beckham can break Shilton's record

David Beckham is in contention for a starting place for England’s qualifier against Andorra on Wednesday. In doing so, he will reach 112 caps for England, cementing his spot as England’s most capped outfield player ever. Only the goaltender Peter Shilton holds more caps (125). However, if Becks is chosen by Capello to represent England…

The transfer merry-go-round- somebody make it stop!

The transfer merry-go-round- somebody make it stop!

In life there are only a handful of things that are certain. You will watch Big Brother. It will irritate you. MPs will lie through their back teeth (and their front ones). Summer does make girls more attractive. And makes you feel less so. People who ring in radio stations with traffic updates are idiots….

Cultural Oddsmaker: Finding Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement at Manchester United

Cultural Oddsmaker: Finding Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement at Manchester United

If transfer rumours in the Daily Mail, The Sun, News of the World, and every other rag out there are to believed*, then the Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid talk is a done deal. It’s time Manchester United supporters started coming to grips with the idea of their fleet-footed, fairy winger donning a shirt with…

Sir Alex Ferguson’s Greatest Manchester United XI

Sir Alex Ferguson’s Greatest Manchester United XI

Obviously, we know that Sir Alex Ferguson has won many trophies, coached a lot of great players, and accomplished a lot of extraordinary things during his time at Manchester United. His critics (namely Rafa Benitez) might point to the amount of money that he’s spent, especially in recent years, as evidence of Sir Alex Ferguson…

This July 29, EPL Everton and keeper Tim Howard compete against the MLS All-Stars at Utah’s Rio Tinto Stadium, the seventh and newest soccer…

Top 15 Craziest Red/Yellow Cards

“Footballers are stupid, give them a bit of responsibility and watch them mess up” -Brian Clough Clough was a manager who prided himself on discipline, he may not have been squeaky clean, but rarely would you see one of his Derby or Nottingham Forest players pick up a needless, or avoidable, yellow or red card….
