Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most hated, respected, ridiculed and loved football stars today. He is a true icon – splitting public opinion right down the middle. A Portuguese national and a Manchester United star, the right-winger had a career-changing 2006/2007 season, when he came in off an excellent World Cup performance (although people only remembered the diving and the Rooney incident) and led Manchester United to their first Premiership title in four years.

He’s a good player, that boy Ronaldo.

Who are the ‘Best Players’ in the World? Is John Terry one of them?

What exactly did he do last season?

Who is the best footballer in the World? Whilst it would be hard to argue with the fact Critiano Ronaldo had the best season, I don’t agree this necessarily makes him the most skilful player on the planet. At United, I’d much rather see Wayne Rooney on the park than Ronaldo. I would find it…

Ferguson has made Real Madrid his bitch…

I'll bring out the Gatling gun, bitches...

In recent days Manchester United have done a pretty little number on Real Madrid, a quick one-two to the ribs leaving Los Merengues looking slow and sorely unequipped for the war. And rest assured, this is a war – one that will be fought till Cristiano Ronaldo’s career ends, or he leaves Manchester United (whichever…

What would it take for you to leave your dream club?

Do you really love the greedy bastards?

The majority of us have one. A personal vendetta with a man you’ve never met. A man who could not have done much worse had he slept with your wife. These are the players that rinse your club for every last penny. The players that see your club as a stepping stone or proclaim their…

Ronaldo leads Manchester United past West Ham

Dimitar Berbatov produced a moment of magic and a smiling Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace as United beat West Ham 2-0 at Old Trafford. Ronaldo scored his and United’s first after 15 minutes when he converted an inch perfect cross from fellow Portuguese international Luis Nani. He then added a second from 2 yards after…

Ronaldo Versus The Stretford End

Should he stay or should he go?

The Ronaldo saga, possibly the most tedious bout of “will-he-won’t-he” transfer talk ever, was the bane of most United fans lives over the summer. Here we were, champions of England, champions of Europe, and all anyone wanted talk about was whether our Portuguese winker was going to join Real Madrid. Two months into the new…

Real Madrid re-open the Cristiano Ronaldo saga

Real Madrid re-open the Cristiano Ronaldo saga

There are two main reasons why I know that the world of football is very quiet at the moment. One is that I write about football on a daily basis and, international match preparation/fall-out aside, there has been very little news compared to our normal bombardment for the past week. The second reason is that…

Cristiano Ronaldo’s CR7 shop opens in Lisbon

Hope he doesn't get a new squad number at Real Madrid!

What is it about Manchester United number 7′s and the urge to own a fashion empire? And we don’t mean Eric Cantona! Cristiano Ronaldo’s second CR7 shop has opened in Lisbon selling everything you need to make your own identikit smart-casual Ronaldo. The question is: who will buy his stock? The CR7 largely consists of…

Manchester United stars in prostitution and drug-related news…

I’m thinking of applying for a job at News of the World. In a pinch, I’ll take a gig at The Sun as well. Just think about it – you get to make up the most outrageous of fantasies based on the flimsiest of ‘tips’, get full points for groan-inducing headlines, go undercover to strip…

Cristiano Ronaldo to get starting place against Chelsea

Let me nibble on your ear!

If you believe the rumours, Cristiano Ronaldo has talked Sir Alex Ferguson into giving him a starting berth against Chelsea. You won’t need a Sky Sports advert to remind you that this a massive game. Huge. The “first classic of the season” is how one bookmaker is describing it. I didn’t realise we had “classics”…

Cristiano Ronaldo’s overly warm reception

Oh no! I'm still here

Cristiano Ronaldo has been lacking two things this summer. One was the ability to walk without crutches and the other was a decent PR adviser to prevent him putting his Nike Mercurials in his gob every couple of days. And yet neither seems to have had a long-term effect. He showed enough glimpses last night…
