The glorified half of the domestic cup double and billed as the most prestigious domestic cup competition in football by… the English press. Winning the FA Cup is a matter of great prestige, and while you’ll see some teams fielding weakened sides in the cups, there’s not doubt that once again, for many clubs, this is the only outside chance of silverware. Blackburn pushed Chelsea to extra time but in the end Ballack – and Chelsea’s dogged determination – won over. It sets of the second of possible three finals between Manchester United and Chelsea.
Manchester United skipped, strolled and sauntered past Watford without as much as a hint of discomfort (despite the bloody EVDS nose and the Rio groin tweak) and are now in the FA Cup final, again.
