Arsene Wenger
Arsenal manager and a man with an exceptional eye for young talent and devotion to his brand of football which, when Arsenal were at their pomp, was an absolute joy to watch.
Arsene Wenger’s current contract at Arsenal ends in 2008, after which the Frenchman expects to sit down with the Arsenal board and discuss his future. You can’t imagine Arsenal without Wenger, the man has branded the club in his image and whoever succeeds him, as someone eventually must, will have big shoes to fill.
Wenger and Benitez criticize Euro 2008 qualification – and they’re right
Arsene Wenger and Rafael Benitez have both spoken out against the current system of qualification for Euro 2008 (I’m sure they’ll say the same when World Cup 2010 comes along), and both are completely right in their arguments.
Dissecting Wenger’s interview
Wenger’s recent interview (in which he talks about how he would have done things differently with Arsenal this season) has been doing the rounds today, so I thought we’d take a look at it here. Interesting stuff.
France misused Henry, so did Arsenal!
Arsene Wenger has talked about France ‘misusing’ Thierry Henry – and while I haven’t found any direct quotes on Wenger directly saying that Henry’s current injury problems are France’s fault, what he has said does seem to imply it.
Arsenal and the Henry vs Wenger nonsense
ANR and Arseblog have covered the mess very differently, and it’s illuminating, to say the least.
Arsenal’s moment of truth: Evolve or suffer
They say you should never kick a man when he’s down – however, it’s an equal travesty to not consider the reality of the situation, so hear me out before you start screaming.
Arsenal’s biggest battle this season is with themselves
In the last two weeks, the hacks (supporters and critics) talking about Arsenal have totally missed the point.
Theo Walcott, Wenger and Arsenal’s “pretty football”
Being a United fan, it galls me to hear neutrals describe Arsenal as the team that plays the most beautiful football. It is at once effective and attractive in its simplicity, and yet pulling it off is difficult enough that there really can be only one Wenger, and only one Arsenal.
Arsenal in relegation battle
Yes, I know Arsenal have 35 games still to play and have a game in hand – RTFA and then rant Even pessimistic Arsenal supporters who predicted another 4th place finish this season would not have imagined the position their club has found itself in – flirting with relegation.
Arsenal vs Reality – Wenger Speaks
Arsene Wenger is…well, playing media games (to be politically correct – wait for our off-the-record column for my actual views).
Arsenal vs Manchester United, Arsene Wenger vs Alex Ferguson
This is not an attempt to start ‘another’ pointless argument between Arsenal and Manchester United fans. I have two goals here: One, to understand (through the knowledge of fans of both clubs) what happened in specific incidents between Manchester United and Arsenal in the recent past. Two, I’m hoping that knowing more about the incidents…
