Sunderland score against Liverpool … via a beach ball!

Written by Soccerlens

beach-ball

Sunderland’s first goal against Liverpool today – from Darren Bent – came in the 5th minute thanks to a deflection off a balloon beach ball that had floated into the Liverpool penalty area.

The best part of all this? Reina actually went for the beach ball instead of the football, meaning he ended up going the wrong way, although to his credit he didn’t actually end up holding the beach ball. Shame really.

That’s going to make Rafa Benitez really mad…

  5. Early days yet. Fukn united fans carryin on like a typical bunch of pricks. You may hate us scousers, but everyone in the league hates you lot, bunch of arrogant cunts.

Laws of football state that the goal should’ve been disallowed and a drop ball taken place. But i guess we shouldn’t expect a referee to actually know the rules of the game…useless bastard.

  6. It was a Pool Kid that Threw it on the pitch though haha, ohwell, as they say, Football is a funny game… Tough luck Liverpool, come on Spurs!

Its a joke isn’t it ? But not as sick a joke as Hicks and Gillett.

Let’s be clear it was a beach ball not a baloon and it was wearing a Liverpool shirt!

And it’s not the first time a beach ball has put one past the Liverpool keeper either. I clearly remember Jan Molby doing that back in the 90’s. ;)
