The English Championship 08/09 season stars in just two weeks, the League season starts in four weeks and the Soccerlens Championship Fantasy Football League is now open for business.

Budding managers will be given a budget of £10 million to select their best XI, including being able to choose a Captain whose points score is doubled throughout their games. Would-be managers decide whether to play 4-4-2 or 5-3-2, sign Earnshaw or Ebanks-Blake, and when to use any of their 30 available transfers.

There are some fantastic ‘money can’t buy’ prizes on offer, including a £500 free fuel voucher, free tickets to the Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off Final and a chance to win a behind-the-scenes tour of a Championship Club, as well as other monthly prizes.

Here’s how you can play:

1. Visit fantasy.football-league.co.uk and sign in (if you’ve never registered at the site before, click on this link to register). Depending on your account history, you might need to pick your team before moving to the next step.

2. After logging in you’ll land on your Team Page. Scroll down and in the ‘Private Leagues’ box on the right below your team lineup, click the ‘Enter New League’ link. Once there, skip to the bottom of the page where it says ‘Joining an Existing League’ and enter the Soccerlens Championship league code: 1813.

That’s it. You’re good to go.

The Texaco Star Manager

The person who accumulates the most points during the season will win four top-priced general admission tickets to the Championship play-off final, a signed shirt from any Championship team, and a £500 fuel voucher.

2nd Prize – £250 fuel voucher and a signed shirt from any Championship team.

3rd Prize – £100 fuel voucher and a signed ball from any Championship team.

The Texaco Private League Championship Winner

1st prize – £150 fuel vouchers, a signed shirt from any Championship team, plus two top-priced general admission tickets to the Championship play-off final for the top five managers in the winning Private League.

2nd Prize – £100 fuel vouchers, and a signed shirt from any Championship team, for each of the top five managers in the 2nd place Private League.

3rd Prize – £50 fuel vouchers, and a signed ball from any Championship team, for each of the top five managers in the 3rd place Private League.

The Texaco Star manager of the month

Every manager of the month wins the chance for a unique behind-the-scenes tour of a Championship club (including a tour of stadium, with the opportunity to learn about training regimes, watch the players train, meet the manager and players, and receive a team training kit).

As well as the above prize, the manager of the month for December will win an extra special Christmas prize – two tickets to the semi-final of the Carling Cup!

The Texaco Private League Of The Month

The Texaco Private League of the month is awarded to the league whose top five managers have the highest cumulative score. In simple terms, we add up the scores of the top five managers in your private league to get your league’s Private League Championship score. The prize is a Mitre football to each of the top five managers of the winning Private League.
