The historical points reasoning is a joke. For most of those years Villa had a 19th century chairman who thought £250 was a lot to spend on a player. Last summer Villa were the 3rd highest spenders in Europe. The fact that we have so many new players might explain the current lack of consistency but it will come, as will more new players in January. Let's face it, Wengers boys aren't exactly predictable these days are they? On Saturday we battered them and they were clueless. Everyone here knows that both Villa and Arsenal are completely different teams than they were even 2 years ago let alone 5--so mentioning these have no use whatsoever in predicting how they'll do this season. How about, oh I don't know--looking at what they're doing THIS YEAR. Look at the Actim Index top 100 and see that Villa has 10 players while Arsenal have 8. Not a surefire indicator, but at least it would show that you are trying to analyze this season instead of seasons past.
