Lovin’ It, Platini Sounds Off, Munich Remembered, and more
Yesterday, those who are tired of Andrei Arshavin. Today, long-suffering Newcastle fans. Love it!
The match of the weekend in the Premier League will be at White Hart Lane, where we will witness the second coming of Robbie Keane (complete with captain’s armband!) and the first coming of Andrei Arshavin as Tottenham take on Arsenal in a North London derby that is rarely short on excitement. Both teams need a good result from this one for different reasons, and you can follow each side’s attempt to gain three vital points (or at least not get beaten) with our live match commentary. It’s safe to say that Robbie is just wee bit excited to be back for this one.
David Beckham is working his hardest to make sure he’s there with England, and on present form, I certainly won’t put it past him to be a contributor in South Africa. And after that, he’ll retire into the sunset, or play for Leyton Orient.
On a more somber note, Friday was the 51st anniversary of the Munich air disaster, and Manchester United’s official site paid tribute. I won’t sit here and wax poetic about it, but United supporter or United hater, hopefully you took at least a moment yesterday to think about the tragedy.
