Carlos Edwards was brought over to this country by Wrexham.
Hector Sam and Dennis Lawrence were also brought over and the trio played for Wrexham for approx 5 years not so long ago. Carlos thrilled everyone at the racecourse with his superb skills and electric pace and it is no surprise that now he has recovered from injury Sunderland are picking up points. Watch this lad go next season if he stays clear from injury. Put him in your dream team as he is going to terrorise a few premiership defences next year because everyone knows defenders don`t like players running at them full speed with an added bonus of a lot of skill which Carlos has.
Dennis Lawrence has just been promoted with Swansea.

We also had a player called Lee Trundle who is really skilful and if you watch soccer am then you will have heard of him but he seems to be struggling at Bristol City at present because he very rarely starts for them now. Maybe just a little late in his career for him to play in the premiership but there are players in the lower leagues who are good enough to play premiership football, it`s a shame the managers of premiership teams look abroad first without giving lads a chance, because they think that foreigners a re better players and are too thick to take advice from anyone as they think they know it all.

That goalkeeper your thinking of Tripp is Jimmy Glass and he saved my club Carlisle United from dropping into the Conference and maybe ending the club altogether.

The thing with lower league players though is that they make the jump too fast. It was Dave Nugent's biggest mistake going to Portsmouth, as it was always going to be tough for places and the fact that they expect to win most of the time now that they are flying high. He should have went to Sunderland where I think he would have been more of a success. That's where Jason Koumas has made a good decision, has gone to Wigan were there isn't as much expectation and has done well.

Also Sam Vokes is going to be a star. Really good player this kid.

I think the player of the Championship, league one and League two are getting exposure now - things like the FourFourTwo '50 Best in the Football League' really helps them make the Prem. grade - look at Jason Koumas, he was number 1 in 2006-07, he went to Wigan; Nugent to Pompey and Bale to Spurs all in the same year to name a few... It's a better time to be young in a lower division.

I admire the lads playing in the Leagues. Non of the glory or wages of the PL, but loads of hard work. I was watching some bit about a Goalie who, in injury time, came forward to score from a corner, thereby saving his club from relegation. He's now a taxi driver. It seems like it's really gotta be tough to judge these guys. For the most part we know they couldn't hack the PL. The pace of the game would likely overwhelm them. And that's why it's tough to judge because that extra .5 seconds makes a massive difference in what any given player can really do with the ball. These guys are excellent players who have loads of talent, but in the modern era, where clubs scour the globe for players, it's very unlikely that they have enough talent to run with the big dogs.
