Jamie Jackson of The Guardian wrote back in May that signing Paul Pogba was one of Manchester United’s top priority in the summer.

He reported that United have the funds to meet Juventus’s €100m valuation of Pogba. He explained in his article how Pogba would fit in Van Gaal’s 4-3-3 system and the former United midfielder would be a perfect replacement for Michael Carrick.

The 22-year-old was allowed to leave for free in the summer of 2012, but United are looking to bring him back again.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who sanctioned his departure back then, feels that time is right for Pogba to make a move elsewhere. The former United manager was at Wimbledon recently, watching Roger Federer in action against Andy Murray, when in an interview he made a short comment on Pogba.

“Yes, I’d sell Pogba. Yes, it’s true that I’ve lost him on a free transfer, but now If I was in Juve’s place I’d sell him,” said Ferguson as quoted by Tuttosport.

Catalan giants Barcelona are also willing to sign Pogba, while Premier League giants Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move as well. United have already signed German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger while are looking to add Morgan Schneiderlin to their squad as well. Therefore, it is unlikely the club would make a move for Pogba in the summer.
