Simeone: Diego Costa can join Chelsea

Only couple of days back, Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claimed that Chelsea had agreed a deal to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid, and now coach Diego Simeone has clearly stated that he won’t stop the Spain international joining the London club in summer.

Diego Costa1 Simeone: Diego Costa can join Chelsea

Costa has scored 26 league goals this season and has a reported release clause of €60m. The 25-year-old injured his leg in the last match but is fit to play against the Blues in the Champions League.

In an interview with AS, Simeone said he would not try to block any move for Costa, as the decision for his future solely rests with the player.

“It depends on him and what he believes is best for his future. I will support any decision.

“It is normal that Chelsea are interested in him. He has good economic potential. Eto’o gets older and (they want) Diego Costa to do their work, but now he’s ours.”

The Argentine manager also said that on-loan Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will start the match, but he is unsure whether the Belgian will stay with the club, next season or not.

Simeone added:  “I have no doubt that he will play against Chelsea. He also has no doubts. Not a concern. Not yet know where he will play next year.’

Simeone feels that Costa is becoming one of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or and expects the player to improve further.

If the reports are believed to be true, then Chelsea have already agreed a provisional agreement with Atletico. Jose Mourinho needs quality strikers, and Costa certainly fits the bill.

The question is: Should Chelsea pay €60m for Costa?

  1. Costa price high, at least €45m, then chelsea must sell Hazard to his favourite club PSG for €50

  2. I always have the believe that the price for costa is too high.costa is a good striker without a doubt but to be frank the money involved is gargantuanly heavy and i believe swansea’s Wilfred Bony and bayern Mandzukic are equally good prooving strikers and it will be a donedeal for us if chelsea buys them.

  3. Atleast 40/45 wil b ok for Costa,or Jose should think of going for Bonny.

  4. Chelsea should try and secure costa,& we should not sell hazard on any price.advice for mourino we are not brazil so we want mikel back on track, he should also sell willian,cole,ramires,lampard.helario.and let he no temper to sell desepline master david liuz.up cfc

  5. its left to the club but that price is too high so as not to regret like that of torres, torres is good but we are expecting more than he can give so let not the same happen to costa

  6. costa cn add a very good atacking force dat we a lacking and jose shud nt sell harzerd,he is a good winger,we still need hm.

  7. Hazard must go to PSG where he already seen good things, because for him to say I can’t say no if my wife wants to return to Paris, so why club to force him to stay if he decide to leave the club,
