I think if any of Neville, Giggs, Rio, or Scholes become a captain, it will be fine. I have this idea that captain is for whoever that is old or older than most players in their club and knows the teamates better because they have spent more time with the teamates than most. I don’t even know if it makes sense but basically the captain should be one of those four.

and I bet you that Rio won’t backstab us.

Yes. I think Rio should be made captain sooner, rather than later.

This move might also help with his ‘laid back’ attitude (as some claim).

Well well, Rio even had the potential to be England captain, but he’s much too laid back and casual. At his best i believe he’s one of the best in the world. he was better than Campbell in 2002, and better than Terry in 2006, yet he was completely overlooked when Mc Laren was looking for a captain. Y was that? Was everyone blind, or is there a problem with our Rio hinself? The problem is that he doesnt seem to realise how good he can be himself! It seems funny but in some ways he reminds me of Peter Simpson, the Arsenal gifted centre back who never made it for england coz of his laid back approach.

I guess if Rio finally decides to work harder and show more passion for the shirt instead of the pennies, he can become an outstanding captain. But for the time being i think we have to keep faith in Neville while waiting for Hargreaves to grow up into the midfield leader we all wish.
