Should Queiroz stay at Manchester United?

Written by Ahmed Bilal. Tagged: Manchester United

Carlos Queiroz’s contract as assistant manager at Manchester United expires at the end of the season, and from the looks of it, his future is still uncertain.

Personally I’m not a big fan of Quieroz, although seeing how Ferguson accepted him back from Real Madrid it’s obvious that the Manchester United management values him highly.

In his own words, Quieroz says he’s still waiting for a ’spectacular project’ to take him away from Manchester United - either an offer from a big club in Portugal or Spain, or a national team.

I think he’ll stick around for the next season, but if Ferguson is planning to stick around for a few more years he might want to start planning for another number two - one that can be groomed to take over. That’s just my preference though.

Yes he should let him go as he is the one to push the 4-5-1 formationwhich is the worst any team can play and is certainly NOT forManchester United.
We have had reserve team coaches that are better than he is so why do they keep him and let them go??
He has proved before that Manchester is NOT his first choice
and is only there until something he thinks is better comes along.

PS. While he is leaving PLEASE take Flecther along with him.

  2. The problem is we dont know how much Queiroz infleunce has. Many credit him with the failed 4-5-1 but no one really knows what his footballing philosophy is and if it works or not. At Real he was destined to fail before he evn started. Honestly i dont think it makes that much of a difference because as Adams recently said being an assistant manager means all you do is suggest, nothing definitive. So if he decides to leave, there will be another dozen willing to come in.

  3. Get rid of Querioz, theres much better people out there for United and he’s the reason for sticking with the terrible 4-5-1 for so long.

  4. I’m tired of everyone blaming him for 4-5-1. The only reason he probably suggested that formation was because Ferguson wanted to keep Roy Keane in the team. He knew that Keane was not operating well in 4-4-2 anymore, and 4-5-1 was probably the only way to keep Keane in the side with more protection from Fletcher. Quieroz is only the suggestion man, it is Ferguson who makes the decision. He is also unfairly deemed a flop at Real Madrid. There is no manager who could have done any better than he did. How can you manage a team full of attacker and no decent defenders or defenisve midfielder. He arrived the summer they sold Makelele, and that was the end of Real Madrid. They replaced him with Beckham, and did not meet Quieroz request for a defender and defensive midfielder. As for whether he should stay, I think Ferguson will offer him a deal, but he will wait to see if a good Managerial posistion becomes available, especially if we win the League this season.
