Should Manchester United sell Fletcher?

Darren Fletcher has done well for Manchester United and he probably still has a job to do for us, but for his career’s sake and for the sake of the younger players at Manchester United it might be time for him to leave.

I don’t think SAF would part with Fletcher just yet though – the gaffer has a habit of hanging on to players he likes for a season too long, and Fletch could stay on this season and then be forced to leave through a stiffling lack of first-team opportunities after that.

In any case, there are rumours that clubs are sniffing around Manchester United’s front door in case Fletcher is available for a transfer and if Ferguson plays it right, United could not only make a few bucks off this deal but also help Fletcher’s career on.

Options

Sunderland need a central midfielder, Manchester City are looking for one but are unlikely to sign a United player, Newcastle are reported to be interested but they already have enough in midfield (unless they want him to play right-back, which is a bit stupid) and Tottenham need a central midfielder as well but Fletcher is probably not what they have in mind when they dream about the Champions League.

Anyone else that you think would be interested in Fletcher in the Premier League (don’t see him moving to the SPL at this point)?

And while we’re at it, do you think Fletcher should stay or move on for regular football?

Send Gibson out on loan to a Prem club that can give him games. Give Fletcher a season at OT. If Gibson turns out good, then sell Fletch.

Selling Fletcher: Hell to the N O. Fletcher and Gibson will be our midfield future as cover to Hargreaves and Carrick, as Scholes gets old. So we won’t have to spend on our midfield for years.

Yes I think we are well covered in CM but he has improved but will never be as good as Anderson/Hargo/Carrick/Scholes/Gibson(hopefully a future star) Fletcher did well last season but that doesn’t make up for 3 or 4 bad ones. If he wasn’t from Scotland I fear he would never have gotten a chance in the first place.

i dont see y we should sell because he isnt gonna get us much money and he seems happy to warm the bench and play 15 or so minutes.

Darren Fletcher should be with a team that will give him more starts like Reading or Sunderland.
