I also read that Sampdoria bought Udinese's half of Fabio's registration for 6m Euros, if they intend to keep him this is completely unnecessary, since he would be playing for them next season either way. Obviously Sampdoria are looking to sell; Quagliarella is ripe for the picking. And if we recollect for a few minutes the Luca Toni to Bayern deal, Fiorentina didn't want to sell to Italian teams, understandable; no one offloads a golden boot to the opposition. Rising Italian star Fabio Quagliarella says Premiership champions Manchester United have increased their offer to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.

“It seems like a serious offer, also because their bid has been increased and is a substantial figure,” Quagliarella was quoted as saying in Tuesday’s Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Manchester United are a great club and if things turn out this way I would happily go and play in the Premiership. It’s a great, fascinating league.”
