The third oldest national football association in the world, Wales has not qualified for a major tournament after they qualified for the 1958 FIFA World Cup. Although, they are a part of the United Kingdom but they have always chosen to be represented separately from England. They were in Group 4, alongside Germany, Russia, Finland, Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein.

The new Wales home shirt for 2009/2010 is out and on the shelves. Champion manufactured the shirt, which is all red with a patch of white on the back, under the collar and on the sides of the front of the shirt. The manufacturer logo goes on the right chest and the Wales emblem on the left. A very plain shirt with the Wales dragon on the back in dark red.
