Adidas has launched the latest football shoes to add to the Predator collection. We, at Soccerlens, got the images of the shoes and they match the leaked images of the shoes we posted earlier. The shoe is officially launched. The marketing name for the shoe is indeed Adidas Predator X.

A number of footballers were noticed wearing black shoes in training. Those boots were taped up in black to hide the design. Those shoese were the test-models given to the players to test the shoe and get the players used to the feel of the shoe.

Umbro Speciali – The red & white boot Terry wore against Holland

umbro

If you watched the England versus Holland game, you must have noticed the red and white football shoes John Terry was wearing. It was the classic Umbro Speciali. Over the years, players like Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and Roberto Carlos wore them and building up from that, Umbro launched the modern 2009 version of the boot. Owen, Terry, Gael Clichy, Deco and a number of other Premier League stars will be wearing the same boot. Carlos Tevez to wear 32 @ Manchester City

Carlos Tevez spent two years at Manchester United and played nearly a hundred games, scoring 34 goals. Alex Ferguson said that he knew Tevez is not going to stay because he wasn’t answering his calls or texts about a permanent deal to stay at United since the Champions League knockout match against Inter Milan. Tevez faced tough competition at the club and he was third choice behind Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov. Not only that, Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda were also a threat to him being the first choice or at least the second choice striker.

Not finding his place at the club, he decided to move to United’s local rivals Manchester City. At City, the new owners have been trying hard to get some big signings and get a place in the European cups. They have already signed names like Robinho, Gareth Barry, Santa Cruz and now Tevez and they have gone after almost every big name (Lionel Messi, Kaka, John Terry, etc.).

Michael Owen gets the number 7 @ Manchester United

Manchester United have announced that the newest signing, Michael Owen, will wear the number 7 shirt for his time at the club. At United, this number has been worn by some of the reds’ most favorite players like George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and most recently by Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo. We all know that Owen is famous for his tendency to get injured but he has played some 62 matches in the last two years at Newcastle United.

With the new number at United, comes the new and much bigger responsibility… That is, score goals regularly and create chances for others around you. His stats don’t really match up to those standards; in the 62 matches he played, he could only score 23 times, which in my point of view is below average. Maybe, with better players and a better coach around he can learn to score more often. Only time will tell.
