There are still seven months to go in the biggest competitive stage in the footballing world, the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Too early to predict anything but that does not mean we can’t reveal our World Cup kits! Germany sure thinks so. Yesterday, Michael Ballack, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Per Mertesacker came in front of the media wearing the 2010/2011 kits manufactured by Adidas.

The shirt is traditionally plain white with a black collar and black Adidas pin-stripes on the shoulders and down the sleeves to meet the black end of the sleeves. There is a black, red and yellow pin-stripes going behind the emblem of the Germany national football team, which is on the left side of the shirt. The Adidas logo in the middle under the collar and the shirt number of the right. They will black shorts with it.

Germany 2010 Home Kit

As the World Cup 2010 approaches, images of the many national teams’ kits have started appearing on the internet. Soccerlens is just going to add to that as soon as we get our hands on as many of the shirts; after all, that’s what Soccerlens Shirts is all about.

Anyways, Germany’s 2010 home kit is here. We like this shirt way better than the last one. It’s going to be black and white with very thin little black, red and green stripes down the front on the left hand side, passing behind the German crest. Adidas pin-stripes on the shoulders in black and black shorts with white stripes on the side.

Ballack’s number 13 shirts

The German midfielder, Michael Ballack wears the number 13 for both Chelsea and Germany. He is indeed a good player to have in your midfield although Chelsea couldn’t take complete advantage of his abilities. Then again, Chelsea hasn’t been able to take complete advantage of anyone in or around their squad lately. But lets just leave that discussion for another day… here are the shirts Ballack wears:

Germany 2008-09 Away Kit

Tagged: Germany

Well Germany has unveiled their new Away kits that will be worn for the 2008-09 campaign. Much better than their new home kit, which was horrible to say the least. The new away kit is one that should be a favorite of all fans, not just the fans of Germany. It is simple, yet different, and the color scheme flows nicely throughout the top.

A solid field of red with a large black stripe down the middle contrasts beautifully with the gold stripes on the sleeves. Along with the black stripe, the collar is used to continue the black up. Along with the gold stripes on the sleeves, the German National Badge and the Championship stars are in the center of the kit (in the black) and blend nicely with the gold Adidas logo. This kit is stunning and a must have for any German fan. Adidas and German management really got this one right. I guess with 2 new kits, you have to get one of them right. 4 out of 5 stars for me…instant classic.

Germany 2007-09 Home Kit

Tagged: Germany

In the last month, the German officials released a new kit to be worn at all home matches until 2009. This will obviously include the Euro 2008 tournament. I will say that I have seen better kits from the Germans, but this one is not too bad.

Going with a solid field of white, Adidas took the German colors of black, yellow and red and put them into a stripe across the chest that ends on the German badge. That is the only thing I do not like about the kit, though different and original, it just does not flow very well with the kit itself. Aside from that marking it is a very simple kit with the three Adidas stripes down the sleeves and a black collar. Simplicity is key to a great looking kit, this one will get 3 out of 5 stars. Mainly because I can not get past the ugly stripe on the front, maybe it will grow on me in due time.
