The word was out already that the Nike manufactured 2009/2011 away kit for Celtic was going to be a bumble bee kit. The shirt is horizontally stripped in black and yellow, it has a black collar, the shorts are black with a thin pin-stripe towards the bottom of the shorts and the socks are black with yellow stripes on it. This away shirt surely does not match up to the standard set by the Celtic 09/10 International Away Kit.

Note: The Celtic 09/10 international away kit is revealed on 12th May, 2009 and it is available for pre-order from Kitbag.

Nike manufactures the kits for Celtic and they’ve made a plain white shirt with a traditional Scottish-design stripe on both shoulders. The club crest over the heart, the manufacturer logo on the right on the chest and the sponsor logo in the middle of the shirt.

The shorts have the traditional Scottish design, green in color, club crest on the right left and the manufacturer logo on the left. They might as well carry bag-pipes with them. The plain white socks have a green horizontal stripe all around them in the middle. Celtic written above the stripe and under it, the manufacturer logo.

Celtic’s 08/09 away kit is … well … yellow with green trimmings. Some people have criticised it for looking too much like Brazil / Australia but it has the potential to be quite a smashing kit once the season starts. Well done Nike.
