Barcelona 08-09 Away Shirt | Barcelona 09-10 Third Shirt

Update: Barca has continued this shirt in the 2009/2010 as the third shirt.

Barcelona’s 08/09 away kit is all-yellow with a vertical stripe in club colors running down the left side of the shirt on the front (neatly encapsulating the Barcelona logo) and navy blue collar and shorts.

In terms of the base color it’s a lot better than the last year’s away kit although one highlight of Barcelona’s kits in recent years has been how well everything – from the logo to the inscriptions and color combinations – fits together and credit for that goes to Nike for paying attention to detail.

Barcelona Winners Range

In the 2009/2010 season, one of the bigger clubs from Spain, Barcelona, won three trophies: The Copa Del Rey, La Liga and the Champions League. Not only that, Barcelona had a massive goal difference of 70 in the league and their front three players (Samuel Eto’o, Lionel Messi and Theirry Henry) scored over a 100 goals together in all competitions. Also, Barça beat Real Madrid 6-2 at Bernebue; breaking the previous worst defeat at home for Madrid.

Before the Champions League final, there was a talk about Manchester United and Barça, both being the deserving winners of the final. But, after watching Barcelona completely out-playing United, it was pretty clear who the deserving champions of Europe.

The 2008/2009 La Liga and Copa Del Rey champions Barcelona will go back to the traditional multiple striped shirt next season. The number of stripes seems to be the only difference in the shirt. The shirt features the Barça crest on the left of the shirt, the Nike logo on the right, the Unicef logo in the middle of the shirt and the LFP logo on the right sleeve.

Barcelona 09/10 Away Shirt

Note: The new Barça 09/10 away shirt is up for grab.

The current yellow away kit of Barcelona will be discontinued the following year. So, in the 2009/2010 season the away color is somewhere between orange and pink. The club crest on the left of the chest, the Nike logo on the right and the Unicef logo in the middle of the shirt. This season’s La Liga winners have an astounding goal difference of 70, scoring almost three goals in every game at an average. They probably have the highest goal difference in the world or at least in Europe right now.

Champions League Final: Barcelona & Manchester United Shirts

After ‘the champions vs the ordinary’ game between Manchester United and Arsenal and the “controversial” Chelsea, Barcelona draw at Stamford Bridge, the final will be played between the best team in England and the best team in Spain on 27th May, 2009 at Stadio Olimpico, Rome (home of Lazio and Roma).

It will be a chance for Pep’s boys to take revenge from United for the last year’s Champions League semi-final even though they will be without Daniel Alves and Eric Abidal plus Rafael Marquez’s presence is not certain. Whereas Wes Brown and Darren Fletcher will be missing the final for Manchester United.

For this very special occasion, our friends over at Kitbag have made a special section. The section contains shirts, banners, finale footballs, etc.

Barcelona 08/09 Home GK Kit

The Barcelona 08/09 home goalie shirt is all black with the usual Unicef logo across the chest. I don’t why Nike keep adding that stripe from collar to opposite shoulder – makes the kit (and the dozens of training kits they put it on) look like robes instead of shirts.
