The Saudi Arabia football team is known as al-Sogour (Arabic for ‘The Falcons’) and al-Akhdar (Arabic for ‘The Green’). Back in 1994, the Saudis upset Belgium and beat Morocco to go to the Round of 16 of the World Cup; where they were knocked out by Sweden. They have qualified for the World Cup four times consecutively since 1994. Saudi Arabia won the Asian Cup three times, in 1984, 1988 and 1996.

Their former goal keeper Mohamed Al-Deayea has the world record of the most caps for a male footballer; he has 181 caps.
