On 4th December 2009, FIFA and Adidas will reveal the footballs to be used in the 2010 World Cup. Yes, it is the same day as the World Cup fixtures and results are announced. The name give to the ball is Adidas Jabulani. Jabulani means ‘to celebrate’ in the Zulu lanugauge. There is a story crafted on the face of the ball, it is the story of the number 11.

Yellow, black and white are the main colors of the ball as we mentioned before but there are eight more colors on the ball, making a total of eleven colors on the ball. Eleven because there are eleven players on every team, because there are eleven official languages in South Africa, because there are eleven different communities in the host nation.

The ball is available to pre-order from our affiliate Kitbag and it will be dispatched from 5th December.

There is also a lot of technology put in to this ball by the sports goods manufacturing company based in Germany. They have used eight three-dimensional spherical EVA and TPU panels, combining them to make the ball perfectly round. The players who tested the ball showed great appreciation for the technology as the ball provides great accuracy and a very stable flight. The ball is not going to make things harder for the goalkeepers because it also provides better grip in all conditions.
