The new Nike Mercurial Vapor V (video included)

Written by gGw. Tagged: Features - Football Shoes - Nike

This newest Vapor, by our very own Nike, is the Mercurial Vapor V. The boot we’re reviewing today is the soft ground (SG) boot in orange, abyss and silver.

This upgrade to Vapor was eagerly waited for by some of the most pacy professional footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United, Portugal), Robinho (Manchester City, Brazil) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan, Sweden).

It was three years ago when Nike started their innovative experiments with football boots and called it the Vapor. They have been testing on star players like Ronaldo (Corinthians, Brazil) and Thiery Henry (FC Barcelona, France) plus the players I’ve mentioned before. The Vapor boots have added a lot more of speed, shot power and accuracy to the beautiful game of football. No wonder the strikers are getting deadlier every season.

Coming back to the Nike Mercurial Vapor V; this boot is built with the Nike Flywire technology which makes this boot one of the lightest boots to date. The Flywire technology helps design flexible boots using high tensile strenght fibres to provide support to key points of the foot. The fibres gives the feeling that they’re moulded around the foot so the boot has a perfect fit and unbelievable flexibility. In addition to the Flywire technology, the boot has an Internal Chassis that improves the flexibilty even more. The Nike Flywire technology and the Internal Chassis provides the extra acceleration and speed required for the fastest players on the planet. The acceleration that would give the players inches of extra space to work the ball.

Apart from the technical ’stuff’ that has been added in to the football boot, it has removable screw-in studs which offer extra grip on soft natural surfaces. The Teijin Synthetic Upper adjusts to your foot’s shape and the lace cover provides a cleaner strike on the ball.
