Nike has introduced the Euro 2008 Edition of the Mercurial Vapor and Air Legend. These Nike soccer shoes share a classic design with dark cinder (brown) uppers and light blue cleats and can be bought here.

Once again this rumor is starting to circulate, but I do not see any validity to it.  However on Tuesday Adidas’ stock rose when the market caught wind of it.  Smart move by Nike to try and take over it’s biggest rival, but I doubt Adidas will have anything to do with it.  I guess only time will tell on this one, but I forsee the two giants keeping their distance and continuing to make great products.

As we approach the opening ceremony of the African Cup of Nations for 2008, I thought I would give a brief synopsis on the kits the countries will be wearing. Much like I did for the Euro 2008 as well, if you want to go to the African Cup of Nations page just click here; otherwise here you go.

Before jumping into the teams I wanted to comment on the ball that will be used. Adidas took the newest ball and added a tremendous amount of color and made is unique to this tournament. Many balls are “unique”, but you can see how they look just like another one that was used, but with the colors on this ball it is truely unique. Great job with this one.

For many teams across Europe, the second biggest tournament to qualify and win would be the Euro. Behind the World Cup, of course.

So it is a big time for all teams across the continent to unveil kits that will be worn for this event only, or for a couple years following.
