Arsenal 08/09 Away Shirt

Written by Ahmed Bilal. Tagged: 2008/2009 Kits - Arsenal - Nike

Arsenal’s 08/09 away shirt is yellow with a blue collar, blue sleeves and a red strip running from the neck down the sleeves.

The leaked images don’t exactly show off the true colours of the kit but from what I’ve seen so far Arsenal and Nike have done a fairly decent job and coupled with the 08/10 Arsenal home kit the Gunners have a decent pair to wear this season.

No 3rd kit, apparently last year’s away kit will be used as this year’s 3rd kit. Can anyone confirm this?

  1. Not convinced this is the new away shirt, ALL the nike shirts have a v neck this season, could well be a training top though.

  2. Although yellow and blue is the second red and white, this is just plain ugly. I much prefer this year’s away kit, which was pure elegance, and one which I’ll wear for years.

  3. I do like the new Arsenal away kit for the upcoming season. I think it is no coincidence that the shirt looks similar to the famous ‘Michael Thomas night at Anfield’ shirt!

I really am a fan of the simplistic design as shown in the new Arsenal kit and feel that trying too hard and adding unnecessary blended images and designs is very outdated.

As mentioned above, Nike have done a great job on Arsenal’s new kits for the 2008/09 season.

  4. Yes, the white kit will be 08/09 3rd kit. You can check it out from the official online store.

  5. Yeah the white shirt will be the 3rd kit for this season. Can someone confirm if the away kit will be yellow or gold?

  6. thanks guys.

    It seems yellow to me.

  7. these tops r disgusting. seriously! wil never buy one. why the old ones have to change?

  8. I do like this away shirt.
    A walk down Michael-Thomas-memory lane!
A lot better than the (lily) white away strip from this year, which I boycotted and got the nice (”f*#k you Barca, the stripes go this way”) 3rd strip instead.
The home kit this year does leave a bit to be desired.
We are the Arsenal, and we have white sleeves.
Nike seem to think sweet FA about tradition though.
£$£ talks I guess. But once again I, and most of the true Arsenal fans I know, will be boycotting the (lily) white strip.

Boo. The away kit is ug ly. Damn, after last years three excellent kits I was hoping that this years would follow suit. The away and third kits of last season were both great and the fairly standard first kit was at least classic in styling.

I don’t know who comes up with the idea of these ugly colored kits for the away kits (see the chelsea away kit last year.

Up Arsenal wahtever kit they wear!!!!

  10. Hi to just clear up the 08-09 Arsenal away shirt i got a CESC animation from Arsenal.com the day the home shirt was unvieled, it is same as the home only yellow , yellow V neck, blue sleeves with red pipeing and blue with the red pipeing stripe going down the side of the shirt,
Arsenal must of put it up by mistake, because after i brought the 3D animation i told all my mates, they went on Arsenal.com and it had been removed,

Arsenal will be this seasons and next seasons worst dressed team. The home strip is hideous and did away with the trademark white sleeves and now this abortion of a kit. Nike must of smoking some of Arsene Wenger’s crack, that he seems to be smoking more often these days, whilst designing these ugly kits. Mustard yellow and navy…never a smart choice. I won’t be buying either of these kit and i may watch the team less to avoid seeing them look like a conference side.

  13. dis kit does look bad at first but this is just dis is just ur first view guys wait until u c fabregas/nasri/rosicky line up in this kit then ull fall in love with it i bet 80 percent of u who hate this kit will love it cum the end of the 08/09 season. i absoultley thought last seasons home kit was a shamblez no lie when it came out but now i love the kit same with this guys jus wait n c ull luv it cant wait 2 c number 14 walcott on dis n da home kit lool gunna be siccccck im get walcott at the back of mine 100% loool
