Angola did not qualify for the World Cup until 2002. They did qualify in 2006 but they could not go beyond the group stages. They became prominent when they appeared in two African Cup of Nations in the 1990s. Angola’s most prominent player probably is their forward Manucho, who plays for the La Liga side Real Valladolid.
