Excellent. Very well written. Captures the mood.

I think Thaksin's interview comments reveal a lot about his frustrations over the second half of the season. I have to admit to being a little swept up in the media circus that surrounded all of the speculation. On reflection, we may discover that we were too influenced by our recent poor past performance and therefore were desperate for Sven to stay for stability's sake. Perhaps this will turn out to be a masterstroke. Perhaps Thaksin saw something that we didnt. Sven maybe isn't cut out for the Premier League which after all is a very different league these days to those in the rest of Europe.

In any event I dont think we'll see a repeat of what has happened with Hughes. I think Sven and his entourage were simply not suited to Thaksin. I'd hazard that he will warm to the hard graft more working man's approach that Hughes takes. And I reckon we have a brilliant future ahead with Hughes.

Absolutely spot on article and echoes my opinion of Sven's reign exactly.

While I too am a little wary of the prospect of Ronny coming to City, if Hughes and Cook agree it can be beneficial to City then that's fine by me. I don't think Ronny will play 90 minutes in every game but he would be a great player to bring on after 60 minutes or so.His European experience will also be invaluable to us this season. He will also sell plenty of shirts and raise the profile of City globally. If handled in the right manner and Hughes won't take any bull from him, then his signing could be fantastic for City and shutup the anti-City press.

If we can buy a couple of young England players then the future is really bright. How about Bentley and Bridge both coming to City this summer. Also just seen a link to Ben Arfa on another site too !

Excellent article. I couldn't agree with you more about the appointment of Mark Hughes, he would have been my first choice last year.
I would have liked Sven to stay for stability reasons but I was alarmed at the slide in the second half of the season and now I am very happy with the resolution.

Looking forward to next season, should be very interesting,
