Sheffield United to sue West Ham - apparently they like begging

Sheffield United are to sue West Ham for the cost of their relegation from the Premier League, the cost estimated at between 30m-50m.
Long after Tevez has moved on from West Ham, Sheffield United are still having a go at them, asking them for money to compensate for the horrors of playing in the Championship.
Not sure why Sheffield United are begging like this - I think it has to do with a very real fear that they might not bounce right back up and that will really shit on all their dreams of world domination (or Premier League survival, depending on where you look at it from).
There was a time when I had some sympathy for Sheffield United’s cause - the arguments the Premier League presented as reasons behind their decision to NOT dock West Ham were flimsy at best and there was a good chance that West Ham would have been docked points if it had been an independent commission been the arbitrator. I imagine that a lot of neutral observers would have had the same feelings.
But then there was the bitching. The whining. The moaning. The crying. It kept going up and up, and it just wouldn’t stop.
The complaining quickly eroded any goodwill Sheffield United had built up, and by this point no one really cares, and as more time passes by, it gets harder and harder for Sheffield United to get anything out of this either.
The only thing I understand from this is that Sheffield United are trying to get West Ham to pay them something, anything, to get them to shut up. Surely they aren’t after the 2m West Ham got from MSI for Tevez?
And before you try to burn the site down…read this, this, this, this and this - at the very least you’ll have some context for this article.
- How Sheffield and Wigan can get West Ham relegated on Sunday
- Wigan, Sheffield United, Fulham and Charlton are not good enough to stay up on their own
- Tevez and Alex Ferguson keep West Ham in the Premiership
- West Ham fans fracked over by MSI, previous board and Premier League
- Everyone wants to kick West Ham

This is about justice and the truth, which has not yet come out. Believe me, when the case goes to court, there is documentation to support the Blades claim, that West Ham have continued to lie and lie. Joorabchian, like any buisness man wanted his money, so he did a deal which allowed Tevez to go to Man U, but he has the evidence to substantiate SHeffield Utd’s claim.
Obviously, you have never been cheated out of something, just wait until you are and you will, believe me, do anything in you power to get justice.
Another short-sighted, morally inept comment on a disgusting farce that has tarnished the reputation of English Football forever.
Congratulations.
1) It was an independent commission, as was the following arbitration.
2) The £2M West ham received was used to pay their legal costs from that commisiion hearing. The remaining 500k was given to charity.
3) The reasons for not docking points weren’t flimsy. Points are docked when players have been illelgally registered. Tevez and Mascherano weren’t.
4) Stop getting your information 2nd hand, especially from the newspapers - it clouds your judgement and you make yourselves look fools.
I love the fact that every Sheff Utd fan ‘knows’ that there is “more evidence to support their claim”. Well the Premier League, the FA, the independent artbitration panel and FIFA have all failed to agree. The reason for this is that the issue is a global problem. If anything happens, FIFA would be in a difficult position regarding 3rd party ownership all over the world. There are no clear rules on what to do when a club does what West Ham did. So how can anyone claim it’s clear cut?? This, like all otehr attempts, will go nowhere. And I’d wish people would stop spouting cr@p about West Ham without having even a small understanding about the situation. PS. Thought the article was very good myself
I have to laugh when Sheffield United supporters bleat on and on about the ‘injustice’ their team suffered by being relegated. They were relegated because they somehow managed to lose at home to Wigan on the final day, something which cannot be blamed on West Ham.
West Ham did very well in beating Manchester United away on the same day, something which Sheffield did not achieve in their earlier away fixture at Old Trafford, possibly because they fielded a weakened team, believing they would have lost anyway, and resting their key players for the next game against West Ham, which they duly won.
Then there’s the Kabba scandal, in which Watford were prevented from playing the striker against Sheffield United by virtue of a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between the clubs at the time of the transfer. That was ‘third party influence’ in action, something which never happened where Tevez and Mascherano were concerned.
I can quite understand the club and supporters being unwilling to accept their team were the authors of their own misfortune in getting themselves relegated, that’s only human nature, and I can even understand McCabe trying to make a bob or two out of it, if he can, that’s human nature, too, but spare me the injured innocents act.
I can just see it now,
McCabe, dressed as Tom Cruise in a white military uniform, cross examines Eggy in court causing Eggy to scream,
“You want the truth, you couldn’t handle the truth.” and going on a long rant about how he has to do certain things to ensure that useless northern teams playing dull football never darken the door of top flight football again.
[difference between this and the film is that it is McCabe who is then taken away and imprisoned for being serially annoying]
West Ham’s official response to this is brilliant… basically threatening to counter-sue Sheffield United for libel/slander. West Ham’s legal bill from all previous issues is £1.5 million, what is Sheff Utd’s? £3 million?
Imagine the conversation in McCabe’s office with his lawyers,
“yes of course we will win Mr McCabe, of course there’s always a chance well lose but it’s tiny… I suggest a full law suit”.
McCabe: “eh up flat cap whippet, alreet you sharp talking lawyer, you get us t’munney from them soft sutherners and we can pay your million pound fees from when we win t’case”
Lawyer (under breath): you’re not the sharpest blade in the box are you.
