Given has been one of the best keepers of his generation and if he’d played for a ‘Top 4′ side this would long since have been recognised.

If he was English their keeper crisis for the World Cup would be a non issue and he’d have ‘owned’ the jersey for several years by now.

Top man Shay and I hope he’s instrumental in sending the ROI to SA this coming week.

Given has been the best in the premier league for a long time, and as duffman says, has just not got the recognition he deserves. Because he is consistent and modest, he doesn’t always get the praise of a keeper like Van Der Sar

nice reading there London_Blue.you could obviously do with going over it again,and then you just might notice the word “joked” in relation to relegation

but about the article,its nice to see shay get the recognition he so richly deserves.im one of the people who do believe he is the best in the premiership,bar none,and it has nothing to do with the fact im irish.its probably because of his loyalty to a poor newcastle team over the years that he hasnt been recognised as the best more often

What a load of rubbish..! Well done Peter, nice to see you’ve really got your finger on the pulse of football….zzzzzzz…ha ha

City have lost only one game this season (and that was in the 97th minute). We scored 4 against Arsenal, 3 against United at Old Trafford. To take about relegation zones in mid November putting is down with the likes of Portsmouth, Hull and West Ham who obviously have serious problems just shows ignorance on your part. Yes we’ve hit a bit of a brick wall recently but we still haven’t lost, we’ve just been drawing.
