I think in the first few months he will act as a calm and experienced manager, but who knows what will happen once the pressure get to him, how will he handles it with a constant barracking from the infamous english media? Will he suffer a breakdown and punch Benitez on live television? I for once wont miss that if it happens....honestly can't wait to see it happens.

The calm and almost gentlemanly Scolari is certainly a far cry from the same manager at Palmeiras who was caught on tape (from eavesdropping Brazilian journalists) who chastised his players for failing to provoke the opposition in a Brazilian domestic league match... "Won't someone kick him? Spit on him?" Those were the words (roughly translated) that were caught on that infamous tape. Yet here we are, perhaps ten years separated from that match day applauding Scolari for his gentle and warm hearted press conference..the so-called "so-so" one who refused to label himself as his predecessor did, "special." It will certainly take some special qualities that we've been missing from the man whose last accomplishment on his CV was some six years ago in 2002. My assessment is that the man is better suited at managing a national side rather than a club side simply because with a national side, there are less matches and a manager like Scolari, who thrives on psychological motivation, won't last the distance with 38 Premiership matches and a host of other competitions. I hope we see the Palmeiras Scolari wind up Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

Well I don' think he is a mad man but he looks like one!

I agree, his first press appearance as Chelsea manager was well taken and I thought he couldn't even speak English so he must have been learning eagerly!

I'm most interested in seeing what he can get out of a club team which is all together a different ball game to national football. His new job will be much more fast paced, stressful and demanding. He is though inheriting a good team as he has before and does seem to get the best out of his side.

Bring on the new season!

Well, good luck to Chelsea! But...I think time will show who Scolari is and what Chelsea people don't realise at the moment.
Who is Scolari? World cup winner with one of the greatest national team ever which he didn't made but all credits to him. As Brazil was that time the same was Portugal for Euro 2004. but, Greece was too strong for him twice even at his homeground. Similar things happend at the last Euro, once they came against one discipline team like Germany was a month ago his team is without any chances. How to accept losses he shown by punching Serbian defender Ivica Dragutinovic (Portugal-Serbia 1:1), but obiousley he got good back up in UEFA when he got only two games suspension for that. He could't even managed to finish in front of Poland in Qualification round for last Euro. About his personal quality we saw him how to pretend to be naive and stupid on press confereces at Euro 2008 answering the questions about his Chelsea move and the accepting the Chelsea's offer the other day in the middle of competition. At the end I will not be surprise if we see him singing the English national anthem (if he got a chance), because the Brazilian Scolari, was the loudest when the Portugal anthem was played before every game.
It will be interesting to see all the Chelsea people(officials, fans, players etc.) dealing with him.
Good luck Chelsea and try not to miss Ch.League next season...

He will surely do a zillion times better than Grant. So we expect to win lots of silverware next season.
