Saved: Manuel Neuer only reason Schalke still have a chance against Manchester United

Manuel Neuer made eight saves in the first-leg, the most by a goalkeeper in the knockout stages of the Champions League this season.

The 25-year-old German international was in stellar form at the Veltins Arena, especially in the first-half when he kept out seven United attempts on goal. All in all, he saved 80% of the 10 shots on target faced during the 90 minutes.

No goalkeeper has had to make as many saves in the knockout stages of the tournament this season and provided Schalke start firing up front in Old Trafford, they will need their number one to be as reliable as ever.
